First Annual National Event & Fundraiser

Gyms and coaches across the country are hosting a shared movement experience rooted in the principles of Trauma-Informed Weight Lifting. One weekend. One collective goal. Strength that means something.

WHAT IS 'THE LIFT'?

The Lift is TIWL's first national community event and fundraiser. On the weekend of August 28–30, certified coaches and gyms across the country will open their doors to host a 90-minute Embodied Resistance session — TIWL's signature movement experience designed around nervous system awareness, sustainable strength, and genuine choice in how you move.

Every location is working toward an individual fundraising goal that contributes to a national collective target of $20,000 — all of which supports the continued development and accessibility of trauma-informed training through TIWL.

"The bar doesn't trick you. It meets you exactly where you are."
— Candace Liger, Co-Founder, TIWL

Want to host?

We're looking for certified TIWL coaches, trainers, and gym owners who want to bring The Lift to their community. Hosting is designed to be low-lift on your end — we provide the full workout, the marketing kit, the messaging, and the support. You bring the space and your people.

What hosting includes:

  •  Complete 90-minute workout outline with coaching cues and modifications
  •  Full marketing kit: social posts, caption bank, email templates, countdown content
  •  National visibility through TIWL's channels
  •  20% revenue share from your location's fundraising

We're holding spots for a select number of locations. If you're interested, reach out early.

THE WORKOUT

The workout you'll experience at The Lift is the Embodied Resistance program; developed by TIWL over years of clinical and movement-based practice. It's a sequence designed around the four pillars of TIWL's framework: choice, consent, curiosity, and collaboration.

Every movement has a modification. Every coach has been trained to offer options, not instructions. You're in charge of your body for the full 90 minutes.

This is TIWL's framework made physical. Participants who've gone through it describe feeling something different; not just physically but in how they relate to the space, the coach, and themselves inside the movement.

The Embodied Resistance program will eventually be available as a self-paced product. The Lift is where you experience it first.

PART OF SOMETHING LARGER

The Lift is one expression of Raise the Bar

TIWL's national initiative to set a higher standard for strength training — in every gym, every clinical space, every community that needs it. Your registration is a donation. Your reps count toward something bigger than the workout.
